Welcome to Headwaters

Dr. Caroline Gottschalk Druschke directs an interdisciplinary group of researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working at the intersection of public engagement and freshwater ecosystems. Through a solid foundation in the study of rhetoric, we build critical theory and conduct social and ecological research about stream restoration, flooding, watershed-based agricultural conservation, and fisheries management. We take a community-driven, equity-informed approach to better understand and intervene in dynamic, multispecies aquatic systems.

While our particular interests vary, Headwaters Lab researchers are intellectually curious, disciplinarily fluid, and committed to working in good relation.
